Wichita Estate Planning Council at a Glance

The Wichita Estate Planning Council (WEPC) is a multi-disciplinary organization of about 100 of the top professionals in their respective fields who share a common belief that a client is best served by the team concept of estate planning and financial planning.


Our members are attorneys, accountants, financial and insurance planners, trust officers, planned giving professionals, as well as allied professionals.

We are committed to expanding estate planning knowledge and expertise, growing professional contacts and relationships, promoting a multi-disciplinary approach to estate planning and, ultimately, enhancing our community by facilitating superior client service.

Who Can Join?

Our members are attorneys, accountants, financial and insurance planners, trust officers, planned giving professionals, as well as allied professionals.

Membership consists of professionals practicing in one or more the following categories:

  • Attorneys

  • Certified Public Accountants

  • Certified Financial Planners

  • Insurance professionals

  • Officers of trust companies or banks maintaining trust departments

  • Planned giving and fundraising professionals

  • Other professionals offering financial planning services to the public, asset management services or other related estate planning services

Continuing Education

We aim to offer high-caliber speakers and information. WEPC programs are intended to qualify for continuing education for all member disciplines, including special pre-approval credit for CLE, CFP and Kansas insurance.

Guidelines followed for quantifying professional educational programming include:

  • Sign-in sheets

  • CE certificates of attendance

  • 50-60 minute CE presentations

  • Topics relevant to the practice

  • Recognized and credible speakers

  • Electronic outlines and materials

  • Archived records of the above

Meetings

The WEPC year runs from October to May, with six meetings per year (there are no meetings in December or April). Meetings are held at the Petroleum Club in downtown Wichita.

Monthly meetings provide opportunities to:
•  Network and collaborate with experienced professionals
•  Catch up quickly and regularly with existing relationships
•  Gain new knowledge and sources of information for your professional practice

National Association of Estate Planners and Councils

Membership in NAEPC

WEPC is affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils – an organization of professional estate planners in approximately 275 affiliated estate planning councils. Together we are one national network of estate planning professionals, cultivating multi-disciplinary relationships while attaining practice-based education. 

WEPC members have access to the benefits, programs, discounts and services offered by NAEPC.

Our monthly format is a cocktail networking period followed by a full dinner or lunch and a one-hour professional presentation.
